POWERS AND ABILITIES
May. 29th, 2012 04:05 pmSakura is a priestess/messenger of God. This is not a specified God. She is just God to them. Because of her family's piety and belief she has been granted the powers of God.
She, along with the other priestesses, are especially connected to nature and living things. She can sense her friends' and familys' well-being any time she wishes. She has control over nature and the elements. She has the distinct power and control over "light" and her "Grace"
In her story there isn't any explicit references to demons or the darker nature of religion, however purgatory and sin is briefly covered. She even goes as far as venturing into purgatory in order to save a friends soul from eternal suffering.
Her greatest power is one which she has already taken advantage of: The Wish. Each priestess may make one wish, any wish, and God will grant it. Sakura made hers-- though it is not clear whether God granted it.
She was a sorceress in her past life, which enables her to us the same powers and spells in the present. Though now she mostly relies on her God-granted abilities.
It is important to note that priestesses are chosen by God based on piety and belief, not based on their "purity". In layman's terms, you don't have to be a virgin to be a priestess.
